Sarah K Chen Photography Blog bio picture

Welcome to my Blog!

If I love doing something, there’s nothing in the world that will stop me from doing it. Case in point: I grew up drawing on the walls of my house, much to the chagrin of my parents, who had to repaint the interior before they could sell it. Though I no longer use crayons to express myself, I still have that passion today for creating beautiful images.

I now use a camera to capture what would otherwise be fleeting moments between two people sharing in the excitement of beginning a new life together. There is little else that can evoke such strong emotion and bring back cherished memories as a well-composed photo, and I aim to capture just that with each one I take. I want my images to hold a special place in your heart for years to come.

I feel honored to be present at such a significant time in my clients’ lives and hope you’ll invite me to become part of yours, too.

Orange County Engagement : Helen & Chris

Helen and Chris booked me from Northern California where they will be getting married so we didn’t get a chance to meet until they flew down to the OC for their engagement session. They’re a super cute, laid back couple who aren’t afraid to laugh and be themselves in front of my camera. And I...

Blush Boudoir : Los Angeles : Mrs. Envy

Every now and again you come across that girl. The one with the amazing eyes and the smile that lights up a room. Every time I had her look at me and smile, I felt a twinge of envy and thought to myself that her husband was a very lucky man. There’s a playful light...

Los Angeles Engagement : Jessica & Eddie at Occidental College

There were so many similarities. The day we met up for our initial consult we were both heading out to a wedding immediately afterward, but for two different couples. I was almost convinced that we’d be attending the same wedding though. They’re a Korean/Taiwanese couple like me and Jeff. Eddie’s moves on Jessica were about...

Los Angeles Family Portraits : The Ly – Pang Family

I love shooting family sessions that are a little different. Linda of Grand Soirees told me a while back that she’s always wanted to do a cozy bedroom family session with her family. When I booked my swanky hotel room for my last boudoir session I knew it’d be perfect for Linda’s family session idea!...

Mini Orange Trees & Ellie : Film

I’d noticed what seemed to be mini orange trees and vowed to take Ellie there to scope it out and take some pictures. The light was perfectly golden when we left our house, but by the time we got to the mini orange trees the sky was completely overcast. So we missed the golden light,...
