I knew the moment that I met Christina and William that they would have an amazing wedding. Christina is a designer at Mattel who is after my own heart! Just hearing about all her ideas and inspirations for their big day was so exciting for me. Whenever I’d see Christina again, I’d hear more about the amazing details, see more of her DIY crafts and get even more excited! The wedding was so them in every way possible. From the fun and festive color palette, to the flying paper airplanes (commemorating their cross country long distance relationship), their adorable pup Didi was present throughout their entire day and made appearances on their stationary, there were touches of holiday cheer, a floating whisper of a dreamy custom made dress, and some fabulous accessories.
A big huge thank you to my dear friends Jeret Slack and Jen Lauren Grant for shooting this wedding with me. It’s been a fabulous year working with these talented photographers and I’m looking forward to another year! We started off at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills for the getting ready pictures. It was my first time shooting at this hotel and I loved it’s decor the moment I stepped foot inside. Most of the day was captured on film. I just love the dreamy look of it so so much!
A gorgeous blushing bride, with rose bud topped Stuart Weitzman’s, a birdcage veil, and sparkling jewelry.
Christina donned the gorgeous net veil for her grand entrance at the reception. I love small accessory changes throughout the night as it can transform your look from classic bride to fashionista in a second!
I believe all the florals for the day were done by Christina’s aunt. They looked gorgeous and were just the right fit for their wedding! I absolutely love the image of Christina on the right. So simple, yet so stunning, don’t you think?
Here’s Didi watching the excited girls get ready for the day. Captured by Jen.
There were personal polaroid captures taken and displayed throughout the entire day. I loved watching all the guests smile over all of them as they found them! I totally want one of these. Jeff doesn’t quite understand my obsession with cameras asking how many cameras one girl needs, but they’re all so different with their own personalities. I feel like I need them all!
I love me a happy glowing bride!
The invitation suite that Christina designed herself. Illustrations of herself and William, paper airplanes, and Didi! So incredibly cute and well designed!
We took them poolside for a dramatic first look.
I saw this over the top bright orange couch and knew I had to do some portraits here! I would love one of these in white for my house, except I know it’d probably get colored on by Ellie.
Some of my favorite portraits of Christina and William were taken just outside of the Hotel’s lobby area. I love the masculine glass deer head and the stately feel of open air room.
Isn’t the light just so divine? Love how it makes her glow and highlights the soft pleating and ruffles of her dress and sparkles on her jewelry.
Then we headed over to the Smog Shoppe for more portraits!
Upon entering the venue, guests were greeted with poloraids, a chalkboard seating list, a sign in guest book album featuring their favorite engagement photos, and some personal touches made by Christina.
Love the yarn pom poms scattered across the oak tables. There were similarly colored tissue and yarn poms strung across the ceiling as well, tying the look together. I love the way each bottle was wrapped to dress them up. The layering of different textures worked so well with each other and gave the table a festive, crafty feel that fit their theme perfectly.
I love a long table set up so that people can easily converse with one another. The bride and groom’s seat were highlighted with these framed illustrations. So cute!
A mix of roses, orchids, snap dragons and succulents gave a fun, flirty, and earhtly warmth to the room. There were touches of Christmas cheer evident throughout Smog Shoppe. It was enough to make one cheery, but not so over the top that it took over the rest of their wedding theme. The hot cocoa station with mini marshmallows was such a hit. Best hot chocolate I’ve ever had. Seriously! It was rich, and piping hot, and creamy sweet.
You may recognize this beautiful family from a session I did with them earlier this year. In such a short time, Sabrina was walking and all over the place toddling about! I couldn’t resist a quick capture at seeing them all again!
Loved the flying paper airplanes printed on fabric and tied with the same ribbon that they used for their invitation suite. Total perfection!
Take note of the I *heart* U banner on the left! Christina made a mini version of the same design and used it on their cake!
How cute are Grandma and Grandpa? I loved them and they were so sweet! They kept thanking me after every photo I took of them that night. So cute!
Christina made the cake topper herself and she did such an amazing job! From her dress, to the birdcage veil, to William’s specs…. perfection! And do you see the I *heart* U banner on the cake? I love it so much! Same goes for the heart shaped candy canes! Again, a touch of holiday cheer!
The girls looking absolutely gorgeous. Beatriz on the far left was a bride of mine and it was so good seeing her and her twin sister again! Her husband David was in Taiwan attending another wedding and couldn’t make it, but here’s a big Hello and warm hug for you too!
The guys looked quite handsome too!
The adorable little ring bearer! He was so great in front of my camera. Look at those smiling eyes and those dimples. The felt ring pillow was beautiful as well.
The littlest helper. Adore this!
A beautiful bride on her wedding day.
I love how at the Smog Shoppe, the bride gets to make a grand entrance down the staircase to her waiting Father at the bottom.
There was a quick tea ceremony immediately following and I love how happy these two look!
Donning her flirty bird cage veil, the happy couple makes their grand entrance!
There was yet another gown for Christina and William’s choreographed first dance. I love the color and how it swept around her feet as they danced.
Bottoms up and cheer to my last wedding couple of 2010! I’m so happy to have been with you two through your journey this year! It was the perfect wedding to end my year on and I hope you two love these images as much as I do!
Congratulations, Christina and William! May your holidays be cheery and bright and filled with much love and laughter!
