She happily claps her hands when you exclaim, “Bravo!” And will sometimes lean over and give you a wet, open mouthed kiss when you say, “PoPo!” Which is “kiss” in Korean. But the girl is stingy with her kisses and only doles them out when she feels like it. When she wants something she will raise her hands in the air and flap her arms like a bird. So if you’re not feeding her fast enough, or if she wants your cell phone, for you to pick her up, or to give her another puff, you’ll see her little birdie imitation. Our friend Debbie, who watched Ellie for me one afternoon while I met with clients, taught her to scrunch up her nose and do a funny laugh that’s ridiculously cute. And Ellie’s hair is finally starting to settle down and she’s no longer sporting a faux hawk all the time and she’s got 6 teeth already!
I can’t believe that in two months Ellie will be a 1 year old. Time really just flies by with a little one. People have been asking me for months whether I’d started planning Ellie’s Dohl. And while I had some ideas in the back of my head I hadn’t really had the time to start any planning. And truth be told, I hate planning events. I have this secret fear that no one will come and that no one will have a good time. Too. Much. Pressure. And then I have Jeff, who knows me all too well, telling me, “Hun, this is not another wedding for you to go all out crazy over, ok?”
So what’s a girl to do?
I’m so very excited to say that Linda Ly of Grand Soiree’s will be planning Ellie’s First Birthday for us! We’re thrilled to be working with her and I know that Ellie’s birthday is going to be amazing! We’ve already started brainstorming ideas and it’s going to be so so so fab! Thank you Linda for all your help, ideas, and inspiration! We’re so looking forward Ellie’s First Birthday!
